Statement

My art is a tool that I use to express the emotions that I experience that I cannot form into words. That I cannot share with the world. I feel happy when I create because of this very reason I am able to pull these deep overwhelming emotions away from my body, through my hands, and out into the world. It’s my personal form of therapy. Recently I have been focused on the subject of the woman’s womb and how her ability to procreate can be controlled by others. I create artwork that harps on the things that society expects a woman to do with her body and how much pressure women are under to conform to outdated constructs that were created by men. I have done a series of works that dive into how much of an important part the womb plays in keeping our society growing. Recently I have brought in a new theme of finding joy through the journey of healing these wounds that afflict many women in their hardships and reclaiming their bodies.
