Leslie Navarrete

Growing up I always felt unseen and ignored. I felt as if my personal thoughts and experiences never had any value, like they deserved to be hidden from the world. Photography has allowed me to create images that give a voice to my cloaked experiences and emotions. This act of unveiling vulnerable matters has forced me to confront many aspects of my life, such as my relationship with myself, my relationships with others, and my overall outlook on life. Through my images, I am exploring my newfound ability to outwardly express how I feel about my life, my experiences, and the world. My photographs are creations that show how I navigate and cope with my struggles.
